MGM Resorts is facing ‘ongoing’ cyber incident that sent reservation and booking systems offline - Casino and lodging operator MGM Resorts shut down a number of its computer systems including its website in response to a “cybersecurity issue,”.

The initial shutdown impacted nearly every aspect of the casino operator’s business. Reservation systems, booking systems, hotel electronic key card systems, and the casino floors were all apparently impacted by the outage. The company’s email systems were also apparently taken down in response to the cybersecurity issue, and have not yet come back online.

Thousands of guests at MGM Resorts in the Las Vegas strip have been locked out of their hotel rooms after the company was hit with a cyber attack, according to reports. MGM Resorts International has about 48,000 rooms on The Strip. The company's properties include Mandalay Bay, the Bellagio, Luxor and MGM Grand, among others. The outage, first detected on Sunday night, has affected company emails, reservations, room keys and casino slot machines.

The deaths of three people at a northern Minnesota resort were a murder-suicide, authorities said Thursday. Investigators concluded that Michael Charles Toner, 59, of Maple Grove, shot his partner, Melanie Michele Jansen, 54, of Maple Grove, and her daughter, Hannah Nicole Parmenter, 29, of Elk River, before shooting himself in the head, Crow Wing County Attorney Donald Ryan said in a statement. They called the Kinzie Hotel's actions "retaliatory," but hotel management says otherwise.
