But what inspired the move for the restaurant?
“Brunello has always prioritised customer satisfaction and convenience,” said Hani Selim, general manager of Kempinski Hotel & Residences. “Given the changing landscape of dining, particularly with the ongoing global health concerns, we felt it was essential to adapt. Offering lunch delivery options allows us to meet our guests where they are — whether it’s at home or in the office—ensuring they can still enjoy the Brunello experience without compromise.”
The launch of Brunello Kitchen’s lunch delivery service is part of a larger trend among hotel-based restaurants. As the demand for convenience and flexibility continues to grow, more and more hotels are offering delivery and takeaway services. This trend is not only helping to meet the needs of guests, but it is also helping to generate additional revenue for hotels.

“This is a burgeoning trend in the hospitality industry, and not just locally,” said Selim. “The increasing need for convenience and flexible dining options has led many hotel-based restaurants to venture into delivery and takeaway services,” he said.
In addition to meeting the needs of guests, hotel-based restaurants that offer delivery and takeaway services are also able to attract a new customer base. People who might not otherwise have considered dining at a hotel restaurant may be more likely to order food for delivery or takeaway. This can help to increase brand awareness and generate new business.
“We’re optimistic about the potential financial gains. Lunch delivery not only diversifies our revenue streams but also maximises kitchen operations, especially during mid-day hours when the restaurant is often less busy,” Selim said.
He also acknowledged that while there were upfront costs involved in launching the service — such as delivery infrastructure and marketing — they expected to see a return on investment in the mid to long-term. “Our forecasting models indicate a positive impact on profitability, which we’ll continue to assess and adjust as necessary,” he concluded.
As the demand for convenience and flexibility continues to grow, it is likely that more and more hotel-based restaurants will offer delivery and takeaway services.
