Accor opens dual-branded Ibis and Ibis Budget property close to Heathrow T5

The Ibis Budget London Heathrow T5 – which itself had previously operated as the Travelodge Heathrow Terminal 5 before joining Accor in January 2021 – has effectively been split into two Ibis and Ibis Budget hotels, following “comprehensive renovation”.

The result is 56 new Ibis bedrooms featuring the brand’s latest Plaza design concept, and 241 Ibis Budget rooms, which have also been renovated. The two hotels share Charlie’s Corner bar and restaurant on the ground floor.

The property is situated on Calder Way, just west of the Poyle Interchange at junction 14 of the M25.

Commenting on the news Philip Lassman, vice president of development for Accor Northern Europe, said:

“The renovation and reopening of this property as a dual branded Ibis and Ibis Budget hotel is an exciting chapter in the development of both brands’ portfolio.

“It is yet another example of seeing these two successful brands sit side by side each other, enhances the offering for our guests, adds value for our partners investments and secures our third UK Ibis property to open this year featuring the new Plaza bedroom concept following the opening of Ibis Bridgwater in April and Ibis London Sutton in July.”

Earlier this year Accor added nine Ibis Budget hotels in Burton Upon Trent, Cumbernauld, Bromsgrove, Dundee, Bromley, Peterhead, Portishead Harbour, Lancaster and Stansted Airport, following an agreement with Ago Hotels to convert former Travelodge properties.
