Valpas reports hotels can turn bed bug protection into revenue

International news
A new survey shows travellers are willing to pay more for peace of mind – specifically, a hotel stay guaranteed to be bed bug-free.

Valpas uses smart, built-in traps to detect and stop bed bugs before they spread – with no need for chemical sprays or pesticides.

The Finland-based hotel tech company says guests would pay up to €5 extra per night for a hotel that certifies its rooms as permanently protected. Valpas is already used by more than 300 hotels globally.

“We’re tapping into a wider shift toward attribute-based selling in hospitality,” said Martim Gois, co-founder and CEO of Valpas. “Travelers today book with their values in mind, and the guarantee of a safe and sustainable stay is now a make-or-break factor.”
