Two British women have been arrested after being involved in a violent brawl at a hotel in Ibiza.

The pair, aged 27 and 28, were sharing a room in the resort of Sant Antoni de Portmany when they became engaged in a fight early this morning.

Emergency services were alerted after one of the women presented to hotel staff covered in blood.

Spain’s Guardia Civil (Civil Guard) said both women were arrested after it was ascertained they had assaulted each other.

Traces of blood were discovered in the hotel’s common areas and both women sustained injuries to their faces and arms.

Both filed complaints against each other, with one woman taken to a local medical centre to be treated for her injuries.

It’s unknown what the women’s relationship to each other is.

A spokesperson for the force said: ‘The Civil Guard has arrested two women, aged 27 and 28, both British nationals, on suspicion of causing bodily harm following a mutual assault at a hotel in the town of San Antonio.
