The spa brand will open its first hotel after a transformation of a former military building

International news
Spa brand, Nirvana is to expand with a new luxury hotel in Berkshire, opening this spring. The former halls of residence for military officers, West Court has been converted into a 49-bedroom hotel to be operated as part of the Nirvana brand.

The hotel will be the first property for the group, which runs the Nirvana Spa in Sindelsham, and also runs Gym 108 and the Nirvana Health Pool.

The Grade-II listed property dates back to the 1600s and served as a military base in the 1940s.

It was acquired by the War Department in 1950 and was most recently listed as ‘mess halls’, a military term for residences for officers.

In 2021, West Court was sold to the Nirvana Collection for £2.2m. The following year, planning permission to turn the property into a luxury hotel was granted.
