Sonesta enters deal for five Dominican Republic hotels
Sonesta International Hotels has sealed a deal to set up five Sonesta ES Suites properties in the Dominican Republic. The move is a franchised venture with real estate developer Almanzar Marte Ingenieros & Arquitectos.

The first of these properties, Sonesta ES Suites ELEMENTS Jarabacoa, is expected to open in the first trimester of 2026, with the subsequent four hotels slated for completion in seven years.
Sonesta chief development officer Brian Quinn said “We are proud to announce the execution of this important deal, securing five Sonesta ES Suites agreements in the Dominican Republic set to open through 2031.
“With the construction of these hotels, Sonesta continues its expansion in the LATAM region to meet rising consumer and franchisee demand in the region for upscale apartment-style accommodations.”
