According to police sources, the south region police control room received a call from a mobile number around 2pm on Thursday and the caller informed police that 10-11 armed Pakistani nationals have entered the five-star hotel. The main control room was immediately informed about the threat call. Following this, six mobile patrol teams were dispatched to the premier hotel. Teams from Anti-Terrorism Cell and detection staff from the Colaba police station also rushed to the hotel.

Hotel’s security officials were informed about the threat call and security checks were carried out throughout the hotel along with the police, said a police officer. After all security checks, the call turned out to be hoax as no suspicious object or suspect was found at the hotel, officers added. The police have not registered any case for now and are trying to trace the caller. The crime branch officials are also looking into it. The caller’s name is showing one Sharad Late on a caller identification application. However, cops are not sure if the name is genuine.
