Ruby Hotels to open its first property in Denmark

International news
Urban lifestyle brand Ruby Hotels, part of IHG, will open its first property in Denmark with a 219-room hotel in Copenhagen.

Set to open in Q1 2027, the Ruby Hotel will be located in the Frederiksberg district, housed in a restored office building at Gammel Kongevej 74A. The project is being developed in partnership with ECE.

The six-floor property will be overseen by the brand’s in-house design team led by Matthew Balon, and will feature a winter garden on the ground floor along with a rooftop terrace offering panoramic views of the city.

Launched in 2013, Ruby currently owns 20 hotels and eight workspaces across Europe.

The Ruby brand was acquired by IHG in February for €110.5 million (£93 million). The brand will continue to be operated independently with all open, pipeline and future Ruby hotels to enter into individual franchise agreements with IHG.
