A man is in custody Saturday after authorities said he pistol-whipped a woman during an armed robbery in Goldsboro.
According to the Goldsboro Police Department, officers responded to the Best Value Inn on the 700 block of US 70 East around 9:11 a.m. regarding an armed robbery.
When officers arrived, they found a woman with injuries to her face and head.
The woman said a man, later identified as 37-year-old Daquan McLamb, entered her room and hit her in the head with a handgun several times before robbing her and leaving the area.
Investigators took McLamb into custody on the 400 block of North Carolina Street and charged him with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon.
McLamb is at the Wayne County Detention Center under a $175,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is on Tuesday.
