Philip Plein to open luxury hotel in Tirana
German fashion designer Philipp Plein said he will open a luxury Plein hotel in the Albanian capital Tirana in partnership with local construction firm X One.
The boutique hotel will be located in one of X One’s upcoming buildings near the grand lake park, Plein told local media outlet Klan last week, as seen in a Youtube video.
Plein did not disclose a planned date of opening.
Besides the hotel, Plein will also open a fine Asian cuisine restaurant and a rooftop club at the same location, Plein added.
The Plein Hotels are part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), a London-based company that curates and markets a global collection of independent luxury boutique hotels, according to SLH’s website. Plein opened his first boutique hotel in Milan in February, according to industry media.
Philipp Plein is mainly known for his namesake fashion brand launched in 2004.
X One was founded in 2021. Its ownership is equally shared between local businessmen Ylli Ujka, Cesk Ivanaj and Ilir Trebicka, according to the Albanian business register.
