One of the largest hotel groups in the Netherlands sold

Fletcher Hotels is being acquired by Sunday PropTech, an international hotel operator that owns multiple premium hotel properties.

It is the Indian company’s second major investment in the Netherlands in two months, which announced a substantial ownership stake in Amsterdam-based boutique hotel firm Sircle Collection in September.

Sunday PropTech is buying 100 percent of Fletcher Hotels from its current owners, Egeria and Fletcher’s management team. The companies did not disclose the amounts involved. Fletcher is one of the largest hotel groups in the Netherlands. The chain operates 170 three- and four-star hotels across the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium, employing approximately 5,800 people.

The acquisition puts Fletcher under the same umbrella as Sunday PropTech’s other brands, chains owned by Indian parent company Prism, and businesses owned by Prism’s Oyo group of companies. These include Sunday Hotels, Palette Hotels, Motel 6, Studio 6, and vacation rental platform Belvilla.

According to Fletcher, the acquisition is an “important step in Sunday PropTech’s expansion in Europe.” The hotel chain noted how much it has grown over the past decade, with over 60 acquisitions in the Netherlands and Germany.

A spokesperson for Sunday PropTech said the company was pleased to welcome Fletcher under its umbrella. “Fletcher has built a strong business and a well-recognized brand in the Netherlands. We look forward to working with its management team to support the next phase of growth.”
