Olympic fans hit by huge hotel price hike with Paris rooms costing £6K-per-night

An estimated 13.5 million people from across the globe - including tens of thousands of Brits - are set to travel in and watch the 35th Summer Olympic games - but will they able to afford a room?

Hotels in Paris have hiked up their prices over the Olympic games – with a double room costing £6,850-per-night.

The games are taking place in Stade de France in the capital between 26 July and 11 August. The stadium – which is the largest in France – has 80,698 seats.

An estimated 13.5 million people from across the globe - including tens of thousands of Brits - are set to travel in and watch the 35th Summer Olympic games. But some hotels in Saint-Denis area of the city are already cashing in on visitors and have hiked their prices up over the duration of the games.

Novotel Paris, located in that area, has increased its prices up by over £6,700.
