Meliá Hotels International Hailed as Europe’s Most Sustainable Hotel Company by S&P Global
Meliá Hotels International, a leading Spanish hospitality group, has been recognized for its outstanding commitment to sustainability. S&P Global’s 2024 Sustainability Yearbook ranks the company as Europe’s most sustainable hotel chain and among the top three globally.
This prestigious recognition underscores Meliá’s ongoing commitment to responsible business practices and its impactful “Travel for Good” initiative.
S&P Global’s ranking is based on the 2023 Corporate Sustainability Assessment, a rigorous evaluation of sustainability practices for over 9,400 companies worldwide. Sixty-one companies were assessed within the “Hotels, Resorts, and Cruises Lines” industry, with just seven demonstrating exceptional performance, earning their place in the Yearbook.
Meliá’s impressive score of 69 out of 100 points surpasses leading hotel chains in both America and Europe. Furthermore, they achieved the industry’s highest score in the “Climate Action” category, a testament to their dedication to environmental responsibility.
