Maybourne to nearly triple number of hotels by 2035

International news
Maybourne, the operator of iconic London hotels including Claridge’s, has announced plans to nearly triple its number of hotels by 2035, including opening a new site in the UK.

Speaking to the Financial Times, co-chief executives Gianluca Muzzi and Marc Socker revealed the company is planning to launch a fifth UK hotel within a historic building in Hampshire.

This would mark the first out-of-London site for the brand, which already operates Claridge’s, The Berkeley, The Connaught and The Emory – the latter having only opened earlier this year.

Muzzi told the FT: “Before, [our focus] was mostly around the hotels . . . to preserve their identity, but what we are doing now is to establish and strengthen the presence of the management company, Maybourne itself.”

New launches are also planned in Paris, New York, Miami and Dubai, half of which will be management contract only, rather than under Maybourne’s ownership.

There are also plans to expand into Asia further into the future, in places such as Singapore and Tokyo.
