TikTok user Josh Kerr found it is cheaper to go on a 5* holiday in Turkey than rent in Manchester and shared the revelation in a viral video that's racked up 530,000 views. Manchester city centre rent averages at about £1,163 a month, Zoopla's latest data shows. Living there means shelling out £1,312.99 for council tax band A or a whopping £3,282.50 for band G this year. In a video on TikTok, he said: "I've just found out it's cheaper to live at a 5-star all-inclusive resort than it is to live in Manchester. Even looking at the gaff, it's a 5-star hotel. I mean, it looks pretty bog-standard to me, it's decent for £900 a month.

"I'm not being funny right, but I pay £950 for my rent, bills, council tax and that. Here, you get breakfast, lunch, evening meals, drinks, snacks and a gaff. What are we doing in England?"
One person chipped in: "So does WFH now mean work from holiday?" Another shared: "I work online. I could totally do that" and someone else chimed in with: "Remote working looking even more attractive."
