Luxury hotel suddenly closes with 'immediate effect' as all staff made redundant

International news
Every employee at a luxury hotel on the Nottinghamshire border that shut down suddenly has lost their job, according to the liquidators. Stapleford Park Hotel, located near Melton, ceased operations with immediate effect earlier this month due to "adverse trading conditions".

Leonard Curtis, the appointed liquidators of Stapleford Park Limited, the company that operated the hotel but did not own it, confirmed that all 92 staff members had been made redundant. Alex Cadwallader, one of the joint liquidators, stated: "Our priority was to ensure the most orderly wind-down of trading possible. Significant efforts were made to communicate with and re-locate the guests that were staying at the hotel, which was at approximately 50 per cent occupancy."

The Grade I listed mansion, which had 48 guest rooms and was surrounded by 500 acres of land, was unable to generate enough revenue to achieve profitability and continue operating.
