Las Vegas, Nevada was slammed by heavy rains from Hurricane/Tropical Storm Hilary. Lee Canyon is a popular ski resort that sits just 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. It took a direct impact from Hilary, racking up nearly 10 inches of rain. The resort announced on August 21st, 2023 that it will remain closed through "at least August 25th" following the US Forest Service's closure of Spring Mountains National Recreation Area. More below.

Lee Canyon's summer operations, including its new bike park, will remain closed until the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area opens.
