Lake District hotel sold to Cumbrian businessman

International news
A Lake District hotel, run by the same family for over 30 years, has been sold to a Cumbrian businessman.

The 54-bedroom Beech Hill Hotel, on the banks of Windermere, has been sold for an undisclosed amount to GGE Limited, one of Richard Berry’s group of companies.

GGE Limited plans to spend £4.5 million on a refurbishment of the hotel.

The specialist hotels team at Colliers confidentially marketed the luxury hotel and spa venue, in Newby Bridge Road, on behalf of the Richardson family.

The Beech Hill Hotel was originally a 19th century residential property before being converted into a hotel.

Sitting in almost three acres of private grounds the hotel also has a 90-cover restaurant, conference rooms and a recently upgraded spa facility including swimming pool, sauna and steam room.
