Kokomo Capital buys building in Rome for boutique hotel

International news
Kokomo Capital has acquired a historic building in the heart of Rome for repositioning into a boutique hotel.

Located on Via dei Mille near Piazza dell’Indipendenza, the property will be repositioned and operated under Kokomo’s lifestyle hotel brand Anagram which debuted in Munich and is set for further expansion across Europe.

The details of the transaction weren’t disclosed. However, the Switzerland-based company revealed to Hospitality Investor that it plans to invest a low double-digit million amount into the transformation of the hotel.

The acquisition marks the first acquisition by Kokomo, and the company has revealed that more properties in Italy, Portugal, and Germany are currently under negotiation.

Alexander Haas, CEO of Kokomo Capital said: “This acquisition is a meaningful first step for Kokomo Capital and a strong signal of the kind of opportunities we’re pursuing. Rome is one of the world’s great cities, yet remains surprisingly underserved when it comes to thoughtfully run, lifestyle-driven hotels. We see long-term value in well-located, character-rich properties like this one, especially when paired with a hands-on operating model.”
