Hyatt hires 12,000 Opportunity Youth

International news
HYATT HOTELS CORP. hired more than 12,000 Opportunity Youth worldwide through its RiseHY initiative between 2018 and 2025, surpassing its goal of 10,000 hires by the end of 2025. The program works with community groups and public agencies to provide training and employment opportunities across its global portfolio.

RiseHY connects Opportunity Youth and other untapped talent pools with hospitality careers, Hyatt said in a statement.

“Hiring more than 12,000 Opportunity Youth at Hyatt hotels shows what is possible when opportunity meets potential,” said Mark Hoplamazian, Hyatt chairman, president and CEO. “Reaching our hiring goal ahead of schedule reinforces our belief in the power of hospitality to create lasting impact by opening doors to meaningful employment and long-term careers.”

Hyatt renewed its RiseHY commitment in 2025, setting a goal of hiring 5,000 more people from untapped talent pools, including Opportunity Youth, by the end of 2028, the statement said. The initiative also focuses on retention, training and career advancement.
