SEARCH WARRANTS LEAD TO ARREST OF TWO EMPLOYEES OF HOTEL AND HOTEL OWNER, SECOND UNRELATED WARRANT LEADS TO ARREST OF TWO MORE. METHAMPHETAMINE, FENTANYL AND OTHER CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES RECOVERED

On December 18, 2023, at approximately 6:40 AM, the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with the MUSTANG Drug Task Force, executed a narcotics-related search warrant for a room at Amerihost Inn Suites in Kingdom City, Missouri. This operation resulted in the recovery ...of approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine, leading to the arrest of hotel employees Rachel Hile and Christopher Payne, for the below charges.

- Possession of a Controlled Substance

On December 18, 2023, at approximately 7:40 AM, the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with the MUSTANG Drug Task Force, executed a second narcotics-related search warrant in the 900 block of Court Street in Fulton, Missouri. This operation resulted in the recovery of approximately 500 milligrams of Fentanyl, Suboxone, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. According to online resources, 2 milligrams or more of Fentanyl, similar to 5-7 grains of salt, is considered a lethal dose. Thus, the amount of Fentanyl seized was enough for 250 lethal doses.

During the investigation two individuals Brittany Smith-Stith and Lindsey Streu, were arrested for the below noted charges:

Brittany Smith-Stith:

- Trafficking 1st (Fentanyl)
- Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Suboxone and Methamphetamine)
- Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

- Possession of a Controlled Substance

On December 26, 2023, Shamaz Waheed, owner of Amerihost Inn and Suites, was arrested on charges of Maintaining a Public Nuisance (578.430, RSMo) by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office. The arrest follows ongoing investigations and multiple search warrants executed at Amerihost Inn and Suites and other properties owned by Waheed. The Callaway County Sheriff's Office has been actively addressing concerns related to the hotel, with deputies uncovering felony offenses, including possession of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine during multiple search warrant executions. During these investigations, MUSTANG Investigators warned Waheed about the illicit sale and use of controlled substances by his hotel employees.

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to addressing these issues and ensuring the safety of the community. Updates on this ongoing investigation will be provided as they become available.

Waheed posted his $1,500 bond after about an hour, according to Callaway County Jail records. Information about his case was not available in online court records.
