Hotel Load Does Not Exceed 20%, Reservations Are Being Canceled Every Day - Wyndham Grand Tbilisi

International news
Some hotels in Tbilisi declare that tourist bookings are being actively canceled amid the instability in the country. Bookings are mostly cancalled in the center of the capital. Wyndham Grand Tbilisi, located on Gudiashvili Street told BMG, that their occupancy rate in December does not exceed 20%, which is a sharply reduced figure compared to previous years.

“In previous years, we used to have at least 68% occupancy during this period, but this year we are in a very difficult situation, with an average monthly occupancy rate of 20%. We have a relatively higher number of guests on New Year's Eve than in any other period in December. There are still a few days left and we do not know what cancellations we will receive. We are talking about individual reservations here, we did not have any groups at all in December. Individual reservations have a 24-hour cancellation period and the situation may change and reservations may be canceled at any time," said Medea Kobakhidze, General Manager of Wyndham Grand Tbilisi.

She also noted that reservations are being canceled daily during the December-January period, mainly due to current events.

"We have been trying to get feedback from those we have been in contact with, and they are citing current events as the main reason why they are refraining from coming to Georgia. If they do come, they are refraining from staying in the center of Tbilisi," said Medea Kobakhidze.
