Speaking to Ten News Network, Dr. Sitesh Srivastava, Director, FHRAI IHM highlighted the institute’s unique foundation and strong industry integration. He stated that FHRAI IHM has been established by hoteliers themselves under the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India, which has a network of nearly 8,000 hoteliers across the country.

This strong industry association, he noted, provides students with direct exposure to real-world hospitality operations and creates valuable connections with leading hotel and restaurant groups.

Dr. Srivastava emphasized that the hospitality sector is expected to generate nearly 6 to 8 crore jobs in India over the next decade, making it one of the most promising industries for employment and economic growth. He pointed out that the sector currently contributes around 2.5 percent to India’s GDP and remains among the country’s major foreign exchange earners. He further added that India is expected to witness a substantial rise in international tourism, with nearly 10 crore foreign tourists projected to visit the country in the coming years.

Highlighting the rapid expansion of the hotel industry, Dr. Srivastava stated that approximately 40 to 50 new five-star hotels are opening across India every year. This continuous growth, he said, is creating a strong demand for professionally trained and skilled hospitality experts, offering tremendous career opportunities for young aspirants.
