Healthy Mind Menu supports hospitality workers with online course produced by MITP Agency

International news
Perth-based charity, Healthy Mind Menu (HMM) has launched a new online course, The Healthy Mind Pyramid, designed to help those most at risk in the hospitality sector. As the majority of hospitality workers are in the most vulnerable age categories, 17-25, and cite mental health as their greatest workplace challenge, the organisation focused on educating this audience with a comprehensive new course to help further their wellbeing mission.

The Healthy Mind Pyramid is based on the mental health framework designed by HMM co-founder and psychologist Chris Harris. From this framework, MITP Agency produced 16 video modules with exercises, worksheets and presentations to educate and empower Hospitality workers. Each module provides practical tools to reduce or prevent mental health crises, with a total runtime of over 2.5 hours.

The free course focuses on five essential elements: sleep, nutrition, connectedness, physical activity, and downtime. With long shifts, inconsistent working hours and fast-paced environments in hospitality, the course is designed to facilitate a healthy work-life balance, a welcome necessity for many workers.
