HBO ends White Lotus partnership with Four Seasons

International news
According to multiple reports, television network HBO has not renewed its marketing contract with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and will instead use another hotel brand or boutique as the backdrop for its action.

The show, created by Mike White, is believed to be actively scouting locations in Paris and the South of France, with shooting anticipated to begin next year.

The first three seasons of The White Lotus have taken place at Four Seasons properties across Hawaii, Sicily and Thailand, which are rebranded as ‘White Lotus Resorts’ in the show.

The hotel chain hugely benefitted from the partnership, which drove website traffic, bookings and general brand awareness.

Following its appearance in season one, the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea saw a 425% increase in year-over-year website visits and a 386% rise in availability checks.

After the brand’s Sicily property was featured in season two of the show, visits to the hotel’s website soared by 193%. Searches for the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui in Thailand also increased by 40% after it was announced as the filming location for season three.

Earlier this week, Four Seasons president and CEO Alejandro Reynal said the brand was focused on creating ‘luxury ecosystems’ for its guests.
