Google announced several upgrades to Ask Maps, allowing users to order food and find hotels with fewer clicks

International news
Earlier this year, Google announced Ask Maps, a Gemini-powered feature allowing users to search in Maps with complex, conversational queries. Google is expanding Ask Maps' English capabilities in over 150 countries and now enables agentic food ordering, hotel booking, and attraction searching.

Users can plan entire days with Ask Google's new AI-powered features, including agentic food ordering that completes every step up to payment, and hotel booking and attraction searching that lets you plan a trip to a new city ahead of time with fewer clicks.

When using Google Maps to search for hotels in an unfamiliar city, people can use a few filters to narrow their search. These filters include price per night and number of stars. However, nearby restaurants, the hotel's vibe, and its proximity to city centers are up to the user to find out.

Now, users can ask Maps something along the lines of "find a 4-star hotel in Atlanta within walking distance of several restaurants." Options that match the query will populate, and users can book through Google's official partners.

Google didn't disclose how many total partners will integrate with Ask Maps, but we do know Toast is available for food ordering, and Booking.com and Expedia for hotel booking.
