Former Kimpton CEO joins Gravity Haus

Gravity Haus, the Colorado-based hospitality management and social club, appoints Mike DeFrino, former CEO of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, as its president.

“Mike has served on the Gravity Haus board for the past year and we share a common passion for people and community-driven brands like Gravity Haus,” Chairman and CEO Jim Deters said in a statement. “With Mike’s experience growing Kimpton for 25 years to its acquisition by IHG, he is the perfect fit to lead our next stage of growth at Gravity Haus.”

DeFrino is a respected leader in the hospitality industry with over 40 years of experience. Most recently, DeFrino held the position of managing director of IHG Luxury and Lifestyle Hotels, Americas. Prior to that, he spent 28 years at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, serving as CEO until Kimpton’s acquisition by IHG in 2022. In this leadership role, he will propel the company into its next phase of growth and expansion, bringing his broad expertise in boutique hospitality to the company.
