Eye-watering £159k bar bill at plush Aberdeenshire hotel leaves punters stunned

The Fife Arms in Braemar has hit the headlines in recent months, achieving numerous feats including being named among the best hotels in the world by the prestigious travel magazine Conde Nast.

But it's back in the news once again after the eye-watering tab was shared widely on social media showing how visitors to the plush hotel ran up quite the bill.

A receipt shows the customers indulged in £158,914 worth of whisky, with items including £67,500 worth of Balvenie 50-year-old priced at £4,500 a dram.

It also includes £40,000 worth of Laphroaig 1940s at £4,000 each, £12,750 of Glenlivet G&M 1943 at £850 each, and plenty of other expensive drams.
