Developer behind Trinity Episcopal Church backs out after delays

International news
The developer behind the plan to convert the former Trinity Episcopal Church into a hotel, restaurant, and events facility has withdrawn from the project.

Property owner Mark McGroarty announced he is selling the South Main Street property, which he purchased in 2022 for $340,000, according to new reporting by The Finger Lakes Times.

McGroarty cited numerous challenges, including legal disputes, the COVID-19 pandemic, and rising interest rates.

The city’s Industrial Development Agency (IDA) granted the project various tax breaks, which McGroarty did not utilize due to delays.
