According to Makama, the officer had checked into Murjani Hotel, located in the heart of Katsina metropolis, where he reportedly spent the night with three women.
Hotel staff were said to have discovered the officer’s lifeless body in his room around 8:30 a.m. and immediately raised the alarm.
Quoting hotel sources, Makama said some empty sachets of suspected substances were found in the wastebasket of the room.
“Three women were reportedly in the hotel at the time of the incident. It was gathered that two spent the night with the deceased, while a third visited them later and also lodged in the same hotel,” he said.
The officer’s body was taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Katsina, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
