Croatia'a Valdarke opens 17 mln euro Marriott hotel

International news
Croatian tourism and real estate company Valdarke said on Friday it inaugurated earlier this month a five-star hotel under the Autograph Collection by Marriott brand on the northern Adriatic island of Cres following an investment of 17 million euro ($ 18.6 million).

The hotel has created 65 jobs, businessman Nikola Avram, who owns Valdarke, said in a press release.

Valdarke initiated the investment in the 49-room hotel two years ago.

Due to the complicated logistics to the island, the hotel opened two months later than planned, he added. The hotel will remain open for a couple of more weeks before reopening in March for the new season.

This is the first hotel on a Croatian Adriatic island under the Marriott brand.
