CityHub names new CEO ahead of UK debut

International news
Ubran lifestyle hotel brand CityHub has announced the appointment of Remco Gerritsen as CEO, as the firm prepares for its next significant phase of growth including the launch of its first UK location.

CityHub, which already operates sites in European cities including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Copenhagen, and Reykjavik, plans to double its network of hotels across major European cities over the next few years.

This summer, Hammersmith and Fulham Council granted planning permission for CityHub’s first UK site in London, an 180-bed hotel that will sit within the Livat shopping centre.

Gerritsen brings more than 25 years of international hospitality leadership, spanning hotel operations, development, and brand expansion in some of the biggest projects across Europe and Asia.

Most recently, he served as director of hotels at International Hotel Capital Partners (IHCP), overseeing landmark developments including Renaissance Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Moxy Amsterdam Schiphol, the dual-brand Marriott in The Hague, and Hilton Garden Inn Leiden. Some of Gerritsen’s earlier roles include senior leadership positions at PPHE Hotels, Azimut Hotels, IHG Hotels, NH Hotels, and Maritim Hotels.
