Luxury hotelier Sir Rocco Forte has plenty to celebrate: this week, daughter Irene Forte revealed her young son’s christening in Rome, and now his son, Charles Forte, has announced that he is engaged.
The new addition to the £250,000,000 dynasty? Handbag designer, Georgie Wright. Speaking to MailOnline’s Richard Eden, 33-year-old Charles revealed that the couple are planning for a May wedding in 2026. ‘Georgie and I got engaged over Christmas while we were with my family,’ said the scion, whose mother is Lady Forte (née Aliai Ricci). ‘It’s been an incredibly happy time and we are looking forward to the wedding, which will likely take place in May next year.’
The Forte family made their name in hospitality, with Charles’ grandfather (and namesake) Lord Forte setting up his first ‘Milk Bar’ in 1936 after emigrating from Italy with his parents. He would go on to become a close ally of Margaret Thatcher’s and establish a reputation as one of Britain’s most well-respected hoteliers.
