Udit Kumar, co-founder of Brij Hotels, announced the company’s intention to operate 50 boutique hotels over the next five years, prior to exploring opportunities for international growth.

The firm, headquartered in Delhi and having recently raised $4 million (approximately Rs 33 crore) in a Series A funding round, presently manages eight properties and intends to expand by adding three to four properties in the fiscal year 2024-25.

Kumar also revealed to ET that the company is looking to secure an additional round of funding within the coming year.

“All our hotels operate on long-term leases spanning 20–30 years, and we make substantial investments to ensure they meet our standards. Therefore, for the expansion we have planned, we will pursue another round of funding within the next 10–12 months,” Kumar said.

A study by HVS Anarock highlights that the global boutique hotel market has expanded by over 50% in the last three years.
