A husband's attempt at a romantic surprise went hilariously awry when he returned to their hotel room with his wife to find the bed covered in crisps.
Rachel Norman, 36, and her husband Johnnie, 35, decided to mark her birthday with an evening out in Blackpool, Lancashire. In a bid to surprise his crisps-mad wife, Johnnie secretly asked the hotel staff to scatter 30 assorted packets of crisps on the bed as a surprise while they were away.
However, staff misunderstood the request and instead opened the bags and sprinkled the crisps on the sheets like salty confetti.
When she opened the door, Stunned Rachel thought they were victims of a strange break-in, but she still decided to eat some of them.
After a mortified Johnnie explained what must have happened, the pair couldn't stop laughing.
