Australia’s TFE Hotels Expands Into UK Market

International news
Australia’s International Hotel Group, TFE Hotels, is set to open its first UK properties this autumn, marking a significant milestone in its global expansion. As the first Australian hotel operator to enter the European market twenty years ago, TFE Hotels is making its UK debut with a strategic focus on cultural hubs beyond London. Two new Adina-branded apartment-hotels – The Hobson Cambridge by Adina and The Wellington Glasgow by Adina – are set to open in Autumn 2025.

The move follows more than two decades of successful growth in Europe by TFE Hotels and reflects the growing demand for flexible, design-forward apartment-hotel experiences in key leisure and business destinations across the UK. With existing Adina apartment-hotels across Germany, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, Hungary, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, TFE Hotels’ UK expansion represents a natural next step in the group’s European strategy.

Asli Kutlucan, CEO of TFE Hotels Europe, said: “Our arrival in Cambridge and Glasgow signals a confident step forward for TFE Hotels’ European strategy, tapping into two cities with rich cultural appeal, strong tourism demand, and growing business travel. These two properties align with our vision of offering flexible, design-led apartment-hotel experiences in vibrant, globally connected cities. These openings not only strengthen our European footprint but also lay the foundation for further growth in the UK market, which is led by Andrew Hunter, TFE Chief Investment Officer, who is based in London. These openings represent more than just new locations – they’re a strategic move into a key global market, delivering strong potential for sustainable returns and brand growth across the UK and Europe.”
