The arrest was carried out by officers from the Southeastern Attica Crime Investigation and Prosecution Sub-Directorate, following a month-long investigation into reported robberies targeting hotel staff. A special police task force, formed to tackle the case, identified the suspect through a meticulous analysis of intelligence and evidence. The 37-year-old was caught in the act as he attempted to enter a hotel in Glyfada, where he resisted arrest and brandished a plastic gun in an effort to flee.
Police investigations revealed that the suspect operated primarily in the early morning hours, posing as a guest with a forged ID to gain entry to hotels. Once inside, he allegedly threatened staff with a weapon to steal cash. A search of his belongings uncovered a plastic pistol used in the robberies, a counterfeit identity card, a fake driver’s licence, a small quantity of raw cannabis, and €405 in cash.
