Corinthia planning Dubai hotel within 500-metre-high development

International news
Corinthia Hotels has announced plans for a hotel and serviced apartments within a forthcoming development on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road.

The two-tower structure will exceed 500 metres in height, and will feature a cantilevered sky lobby more than 200 metres above the ground which will join the two towers.

Corinthia Dubai will be developed in partnership with Dubai General Properties, and will be located close to the city’s Museum of the Future, which opened in 2022.

It’s not clear how much of the development will be set aside for the hotel, nor how many rooms there will be or when it is likely to open, but confirmed features include indoor and outdoor pools, spa facilities, five restaurants and bars, a private members’ club and a ballroom and event spaces.

Corinthia said the development would feature the world’s highest outdoor sky pool, and would offer access “by four distinct entry points enabling fluid movement of traffic”.

It will be the group’s first Dubai property – back in 2016 it announced plans for Corinthia at Meydan Beach, but reports suggest the group withdrew from the development in 2021.
