125,000 Evacuated Israelis to Stay in Hotels Until the End of the Year at Government's Expense

The Israeli government has also permitted the 70,000 residents of the southern city of Ashkelon to vacate their homes for two weeks at the government's expense, although the city is far enough not to qualify for evacuation.

Around 125,000 residents who were evacuated from the communities bordering Gaza and Lebanon will stay in state-funded hotels and guesthouses until the end of the year, Israel's Defense Ministry announced on Thursday.
