Singaporean hospitality owner and operator Collective Hospitality Pte Ltd announced its successful acquisition of the majority of the business of Selina Hospitality PLC that is currently in administration.
This acquisition represents a significant milestone in Collective’s strategic expansion of its lifestyle and experiential travel businesses, enabling it to target younger digital nomads and leisure travellers favouring properties that offer shared, memorable experiences.
Taking over Selina PLC’s holdings also means that Collective Hospitality is now one of the largest lifestyle hospitality owner-operators in the world.
New York-based Newmark Group’s Lodging Capital Markets team is advising Collective on the acquisition.
What is included in the acquisition?
Collective acquired the majority of the operating subsidiaries of Selina PLC, including around 100 hotels in 22 countries targeting the Gen Z and millennial markets.
According to Collective Hospitality CEO Gary Murray: “Selina’s innovative approach to blending work, leisure, and culture aligns perfectly with our vision of creating memorable experiences for our millennial and Gen Z guests. This acquisition not only expands our portfolio of properties but also strengthens our commitment to redefining hospitality in the modern era.”
With the integration of Selina properties into its portfolio, Collective plans to further enhance its offerings by introducing more innovative guest experiences, expanding its global reach, and exploring new opportunities in the lifestyle and experiential travel sectors.
