Once the site of the Strip’s only RV park, Circus Circus occupies a huge footprint by Strip standards. But despite the recent additions of Resorts World and the Fontainebleau nearby, the northern end of Las Vegas Blvd. is nowhere near as bustling as the rest of the street. It takes at least 40 minutes to walk from Circus Circus to the center of the Strip, and the nearest monorail station is half a mile away. Last year, rooms were going for $38 a night — and it’s not hard to see why.
Ruffin, however, believes the property is worth $5 billion. And now may be the time to sell; a proposed NBA arena is supposed to go into the lot next to Fontainebleau in the near future.
“When Ruffin sells Circus Circus, he plans to buy another property on the Strip with the proceeds,” Forbes reported. Ruffin, 89, also owns Treasure Island and shares ownership of Trump International Tower with his longtime friend Donald Trump.
