MA Financial chief executive Julian Biggins told The Australian Financial Review accommodation hotels were a complementary fit to pubs, where the fund manager has deep exposure through the $1.4 billion Redcape Hotel Group and other assets, and were “great cash yielders” in a “scalable investment market”. “We play pretty well in the hospitality space, so hotels are a pretty logical market for us. I’ve known Anthony for 20 years. He brings great experience and is a good addition to the team,” Mr Biggins said.
He said the first asset was expected to be secured “this side of Christmas” and MA Financial had ambitions to grow its exposure to the asset class to more than $1 billion.
“We’re exploring acquisitions to seed a fund. It could be a multi-asset fund or [a series] of single asset funds,” Mr Biggins said.
Common causes and effects of hotel drownings
Your pool is likely one of your guests’ most loved amenities, but, as you know, with great fun comes great responsibility. It’s essential to take all measures to help ensure guests remain safe at your pool, including drowning prevention. Drowning is one of the most traumatic things that can happen in any scenario, but it is especially tragic when it happens at a hotel pool. For the most part, people stay at hotels for leisure and fun. Nobody has drowning in their plans, but unfortunately, they occur and must be acknowledged and addressed.
