Bulgari Hotel, Rome

The ninth property from the Italian jeweller and fashion house, Bulgari Hotel Roma is housed in a 1930s modernist building at Piazza Augusto Imperatore. The exterior architecture and original interior character have been restored and refurbished, then paired with a timeless design scheme. The revival of the property was a collaborative effort between Milan-based architectural studio, ACPV Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, and Studio Polis of Rome architect, Gennaro Farina. With a pool, library, Bulgari Spa, alfresco terraces and a restaurant with views over the tomb of Emperor Augustus, the Bulgari Hotel is a destination in itself. Four Seasons Hotel, Florence

Boasting a Michelin-starred Italian restaurant, sprawling walled gardens, a spa and private hair-air balloon rides, the Four Seasons Hotel Firenze is a leafy haven of tranquillity in the centre of Florence. The building dates back to the 15th century and was once a palace known as Palazzo della Gherardesca. Today, the rooms, suites and common areas are designed to reflect the property’s history, with ceiling frescoes, velvet-upholstered furniture, crystal chandeliers and grandiose archways. The concept has been extended to the hotel bathrooms, with the majestic amenities of the Royal Suite one of the best examples.
