Alejandro Reynal, president of Four Seasons, said Trodd’s hiring comes as the launch of the Miami-based cruise line represents a “significant milestone” in the hotel company’s history.
“Ben brings a rare combination of brand and luxury insight, operational rigour and leadership vision,” Reynal said.
“He is the ideal steward for this exciting venture, and we are thrilled to welcome him back to the world of Four Seasons.”
According to his LinkedIn profile, Trodd spent the last two years at hotel brand Aman.
Four Seasons DNA
That was after working for 25 years at Four Seasons, where he most recently held the post of senior vice president of sales and hotel marketing.
Trodd will be based in Miami, tasked with overseeing technical operations, planning and deployment, as well as sales and marketing for Four Seasons Yachts.
“Together with the wonderful teams of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, I will help to introduce an entirely new Four Seasons experience to new and loyal guests — as they explore the world by luxury yacht,” he said in a post on LinkedIn.
“It is an honour to do so with a brand with whom of course I have my own deep connection.”
Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings is founded and co-owned by Nadim Ashi, a Miami-based real estate development entrepreneur who has been involved in several projects with Four Seasons.
Four Seasons Yachts is the latest, with two cruise vessels under construction at Fincantieri in Italy. Fincantieri’s Ancona yard is scheduled to deliver the first of the 34,000-gt ultra-luxury vessels in January.
Ashi said Trodd joins at a pivotal moment.
“It is the ideal time to welcome a visionary, respected leader like Ben to take on the helm of Four Seasons Yachts,” he said.
“He understands what it takes to create a true Four Seasons experience, and I look forward to watching him do exactly that as we take to the seas.”
