“Over the past 10-plus years I have watched with admiration as the L+R Hotels platform grew from 10 hotels to 114 hotels under Desmond Taljaard’s stewardship,” Bradshaw said in a statement. “L+R Hotels is one of the most unique and formidable international hotel investment platforms in the sector with an undeniable track record, unparalleled geographic footprint and access to a very significant long-term private capital pool. I am truly honored to take the helm of such an extraordinary organization for its next phase of growth and evolution.”
Taljaard will serve as deputy chair for L+R Group, and also act as an advisor to the affiliated family office.
Bradshaw added, “With in-house capabilities encompassing construction and design management, brand and platform creation, off-market deal sourcing, debt origination, special situations and operations management expertise spanning 5-star luxury, select-service, alternative lodging and everything in between, I’m very excited about the future growth prospects for L+R Hotels and its potential to become the go-to buyer of hotel real estate and partner of choice for major investors seeking a genuine alignment of interest with a best-in-class partner across all types of lodging sector opportunities and layers of the capital stack.
“Lastly, I am incredibly grateful for the nearly decade and a half I spent at Starwood Capital Group working and learning under the vision and leadership of Barry Sternlicht and look forward to exploring ways to build upon that relationship in the future under my new role as group CEO of L+R Hotels working alongside our stellar senior leadership team, including the notable addition of new L&R Group CFO Andy Fish.”
